Mission: Southern Africa
When you first look at the overture passed at the 2006 Rocky Mountain District Convention
it, like many overtures, seems to be just words. However, behind these words is a very vital project which will have a great impact on Southern Africa, especially the Lutheran churches. 
This project, Mission: Southern Africa has three parts. The first and largest part is the Lutheran seminary in Pretoria. The second and third are similar in size and are two human care projects.
Mission: Southern Africa is a $1,000,000 project. We will be receiving matching funds from Lutheran World Relief and Human Care. As we work to raise $500,000 World Relief will match our gifts dollar for dollar.
Please consider this project and the difference it will make in the Church of Southern Africa’s future. God has given us this challenge to reach into our pockets and offer our gifts that through our efforts the face of the church in Africa will be changed forever. Let’s join together and make a difference.

Mite boxes are available for distribution to schools and churches. They are also ideal for VBS. Please contact the District office to place your oder for these wonderful giving boxes to support Mission South Africa. The District can be reached at (303) 695-8001.
New Mission Southern Africa Bulletin Insert
The attached bulletin insert introduces another seminarian, James Okello. James is one of the many students from the young Lutheran Church in Uganda. These students have left their jobs and spend months away from their family so that they might learn the Lord's Word and our Lutheran doctrine. Their love for the Lord's Word and His church are obvious in their dedication to their studies and their desire to serve in the church. We hope that this bulletin insert will continue to hold the opportunities to support the work of the Tshwane Lutheran Seminary in Pretoria, South Africa before the Lord's people in the Rocky Mountain District.
